Nursing homes already collect and evaluate data using the Minimum Data Set (MDS). CMS has released 14 quality of care measures to the public. The quality measures are:
For post-acute (short-stay) residents:
- Delirium
- Pain
- Pressure Sores
For chronic care (longer than 30 day stay) residents:
- ADL (Activities of Daily Living) Decline
- Bedfast
- Depressed or Anxious Worsening
- Incontinence (Low Risk)
- Indwelling Catheters
- Mobility Decline
- Pain
- Physical Restraints
- Pressure Sores (High Risk)
- Pressure Sores (Low Risk)
- Urinary Tract Infections
